Our Team
In a highly competitive World full of changes in technology the use of Robots gives students the opportunity to develop the skill to succeed in their future. It’s not just a game where everybody has fun. The process of planning and the construction of robots integrate mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, physics and math (STEM). The Team 2250G "Phoenix" of the Specialized School in Math and Science Brígida Alvarez Rodriguez encourage not only new skills in the areas of STEM, also communication skills, group consensus, problem-solving, critical thinking and work in collaboration with not only the members of our team, also with other teams. Individually each member obtains confidence, works as leaders, express creativity and begin to define what career we will like to seek in the future.

In 2015 Andrea participated in the Marine Robotics competition and her team made it to the finals. She’s also a member of the Bright Stars program of the Kinesis Foundation since August of 2015, where she’s completing her Microsoft Specialist License. As of 2017, she participated in the Crystallization Competition and her group got the third place in the Biggest Lysozyme Crystal category. Finally, every summer she participates in the CTY summer program since 2014. In 2015, she coursed in Computer Science at Lafayette University, Pennsylvania. In 2016, she took the Game Theory and Probability course at Roger Williams University, Rhode Island. Finally, she got accepted in 2017 to participate in the Technology and Public Policy course at Princeton University, New York. In 2017 she was one of the winners in the Spelling Bee competition.
Alexies David Rivera Garcia
Alexies David was born on April 18, 2001, in Manatí, Puerto Rico and is currently in 10th-grade Brígida Álvarez Rodríguez High School. His passion is learning about scientific formulas that use mathematical concepts. He also enjoys the application of Math, Science, and Technology that the Vex Robotics Program offers. His favorite hobbies are playing video games, reading science fiction, and all about manga and anime. As for his plans for the future he wants to become a mechanical engineer with a master’s degree in astrophysics, and probably a doctor’s degree in genetic engineering. At this moment, some of the top universities in genetics engineering are MIT and Johns Hopkins University. Alexies is the programmer of the team and also works with the engineering notebook. Alexies and Andrea work with the webpage of the team.
Alexies has been a volunteer at the Red Cross since 2014. He is a member of the Bright Stars program from the Kinesis Foundation. He participates every year in CTY’s summer programs since 2014. In 2015, he coursed in Computer Science at Roger Williams University, Rhode Island. In 2016 he took the Paradoxes and Infinities course in RWU, Rhode Island. In 2017 he got accepted into the Genetics course in John Hopkins, Maryland. Rivera was a finalist in the Oratory competition.
